From Ardith (2/2002):
I recommend Henriette Major: (book + CD)
100 Comptines (these are short and include some traditional songs and
rhymes) &
Chansons droles, chansons folles (longer songs, includes traditional ones)
The best thing about them is that the French can be heard very clearly.

From Carrie Johnston (2/2002):
When I read this e-mail there just happened to be a CD blasting from the
other room. The only thing is, I'm not sure this CD is actually
available for purchase since it was included in a TopFaMille magazine
last summer. It's called Mes plus belles chansons d'ete. It has mostly
songs about boats and fish, and a really great swing/jazz version of Sur
le pont d'Avignon. Most of it is sung by children and is really not
annoying to listen to. It says "Chansons extraites du catalogue Enfance
et Musique (01-48-10-30-50)" Here is the link to their website, it
looks like you could order a catalogue

From Alexander Demidov (2/2002):
I can recommend "Mega P'tits Loups" 4 CD at only EUR 21,4 available from
amazon.fr. I got it last summer and it's excellent value for money. It's got
all the traditional songs too. I like it a lot.

I also got another CD collection of French children's songs along the lines
you refer to, i.e., with a lot of titles about summer--in a 3-CD box
edition,
"Le Top des enfants - Sp??cial ??t??"--it is also a very good collection, and I
haven't noticed any titles overlapping with the above-mentioned one. I got
it for only 12 EUR.
Here is the link, but I see that it is no longer available

They may have it again soon, though, so it's worth keeping your eye on this
spot (that's how I got "Mega P'tits Loups," which wasn't available when I
found it first) or hunting for it elsewhere.
